| Junior Pride Football PlaySmart is excited to be partnering with The Junior Pride Association in Omaha, Nebraska, to launch a junior football league for kids 9-14 who otherwise would not be able to play the great game of football! The Junior Pride Association is a non-profit organization chartered to provide a positive team experience to assist our youth to achieve their highest potential as they develop their skill sets into caring, confident and competent individuals. The Junior Pride association currently sponsors programs for Wrestling, Girl’s Basketball, and Girl’s Volleyball. The objective of Junior Pride is to implant firmly in the children of the inner city community the ideals of good sportsmanship, honesty, loyalty, courage, and reverence for authority so that they may be well adjusted, stronger, and happier children and will grow to be good, decent, healthy, and trustworthy citizens. The football teams will not be selective; every child with the desire to participate will get the opportunity to play, without regard to prior experience, athletic ability, size or financial commitment. Like PlaySmart, Junior Pride believes that the attainment of exceptional athletic skills or the winning of a game is secondary, and the molding of future citizens is of primary importance. Junior Pride partnered with Derek Leathers of PlaySmart to make this league happen. Derek recognized that Junior Pride is an exceptional organization based on values similar to PlaySmart’s own. He also recognized that Junior Pride is a long-standing organization in Omaha with a proven track record of running exceptional sports leagues. We are happy to launch this league with Junior Pride.
