| Iron Man of Golf PlaySmart sponsored the 10th Annual “Iron Man of Golf” organized by Athletes in Action (“AIA”) in the New York area. The Iron Man of Golf is an amazing event, with participants playing 54 holes of golf (starting with a 5:30am shotgun) in one day! AIA is a Christian sports ministry, active on college campuses and in cities throughout the country. In New York, AIA has a staff serving six pro sports teams and two universities. Athletes active with AIA use their platforms to be a positive influence in local communities. Their message of faith and their efforts to reinforce good character are helping to lay a moral foundation in the lives of young people. Whether it’s a father/son breakfast, a sports clinic, or a school assembly, AIA seeks opportunities for these athletes to help make a difference. Athletes involved with the Athletes in Action program include Mariano Rivera, Andy Pettitte, Scott Proctor, Mike Myers, and Andy Phillips of the NY Yankees; Jay Feely, Reggie Torbor, David Tyree, Tim Carter, and Tim Hasselbeck of the NY Giants; and Tim Regan, Jeff Parke, and Joe Vide of the NY Red Bulls.
