| Vin Baker “Skills and Drills” Basketball Camp PlaySmart worked with Vin Baker (Boston Celtics, Olympic Gold Medalist and NBA All-Star) to send 100 kids to his summer basketball camps. There were 2 camps that PlaySmart sent kids to, one of which was at the University of Hartford (CT) and the other at Old Saybrook High School (also in CT). The camps were week long camps and are world-class camps. The kids loved meeting Vin and learning lessons from him – lessons valuable on and off the court. The goals of the camp are to: Have Fun, Promote Teamwork and Good Sportsmanship, Provide Value-Added Life Skills, Encourage Strong Work Ethics and Improve Individual Basketball Skills. PlaySmart partnered with the Boys of Girls Club of Bridgeport, CT, to identify kids that would otherwise not be able to attend the camps and who we felt would benefit most from them. We hope this is the beginning of a long-term relationship with the Boys and Girls Club, Vin Baker and the kids who attended these camps. |
