| Chelsea Piers Summer Sports Camp PlaySmart continued its 2002 activity this summer through summer camp scholarships that we provided for several needy children in the New York area. In August, PlaySmart partnered with Chelsea Piers (http://www.chelseapiers.com) and its summer sports camps to provide six children with a two-week summer camp experience at Chelsea Piers' state-of-the-art Manhattan facilities. Through PlaySmart's relationship with Sanctuary for Families (http://www.sanctuaryforfamilies.org) and Fresh Air Fund (http://www.freshair.org), four boys and two girls were selected to participate in this fun-filled experience. Activities included a variety of experiences such as gymnastics, soccer and baseball. All of the kids really enjoyed their camp experience and will take with them great memories, friendships and important lessons as they prepare for their future. PlaySmart continues to successfully use partnerships to fulfill its mission. We're excited about our partnership with Chelsea Piers and look forward to leveraging this relationship to create partnerships with other organizations such as the Fresh Air Fund and Sanctuary for Families. We hope and expect to build on these relationships in the future. |
